Overview
The newsletter serves two purposes: (1) students will analyze and break down a story into its plot elements and (2) students will further their skills in using various techniques available in a word processing program, namely Microsoft Word.
Techniques
- To create a banner, go to the menu bar and click Table>Draw table. Make a box across the screen. Use Line Style and Border Color to create border lines and add color to them.
- To create columns, place the cursor two lines below the banner. Go to the menu bar and click Format>Columns>and choose two columns. Then click on the drop down menu Apply To and click This Point Forward. This will create two columns for the rest of the paper.
- To insert a picture, drag and drop the picture into the document. Right click on the picture and choose Format Picture>Layout>Square icon>OK. Text should now wrap around the picture. Drag the picture to the desired location.
